Privacy, Technology and the Bible

“I told you so…”

That familiar retort might well be used by preachers on the topic of modern-day technology.  It’s not just the NSA tracking/recording your phone calls.  Your mobile phone knows where you are, what you are eating, who you are with and where you are going.  Your device recognizes your finger print… even your face.  That’s only part of it.  Google and others are preparing to monitor your health.  Your imagination doesn’t even take you where technology has already gone.

There really isn’t much, if any privacy left untouched.  We have sacrificed our privacy for convenience through the “beast” of technology.

For those skeptics, who don’t believe in God and think the Bible is just another Fairy Tale, you might want to take another look.  These few verses from the book of Revelation (chapter 13) might be saying something to you.

“4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast?

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

If any man have an ear, let him hear.”

I am thankful to personally know the God of the universe, who created it all and knows the end from the beginning!
