The Party of Health Care

Obama Care has failed.

The Un-Affordable Care Act was filled with empty hopes and false promises.  You might remember, “You can keep your own doctor”… “It will reduce cost by $2,000 per family”… and many other… well… lies.  It was passed in the dark hours of night, with 20,000 pages of regulations.  That was only the beginning.  It created a multi-billion dollar bureaucratic nightmare whose real cost may never be fully calculated.  It was the classic example of Leftists taking a relatively small problem and making it a monumental disaster, creating more problems rather than solving the first.

Enter Republicans with “Repeal and replace”.

They didn’t have the intestinal fortitude to just REPEAL.  They used the more politically correct bumper sticker, promising a “better” version of government health care.  I wasn’t impressed, but by and large, Republicans bought it.  Hook, line and sinker.  Then, they sat on their hands and did little or nothing to keep their promise.

Enter Donald Trump, proclaiming that the Republican Party will be the Party of health care.

Like him or hate him, he has been busy keeping the promises he made on the campaign trail.  If you are still searching for a perfect President (or a perfect politician), keep searching.  If you are looking for someone who can get things done, help has arrived.  Trump has made huge strides in multiple policy areas, in spite of the relentless attacks, investigations and false charges levied by Leftists.  This is a man who knows how to win.

My prediction is that President Trump will MAKE Republicans do what they promised to do.  The final blow is about to be delivered by the court, putting a stake in the heart of the ACA.  Following that, Trumps’s proclamation sets the stage and COMPELS Republicans to quit sitting on their hands and actually DO something.  The end result may not be the dream of every free-market Conservative, but it will be much better than the Socialist nightmare of the ACA.  What ever this new “Republican” version of health care turns out to be, one thing is certain.  Republicans will own it.  It better be good.  They better get it done.

I am hoping they focus on free-market solutions, with some kind of help for the low end of the economic population that really needs a hand up.  The less regulation and control by government, the better.  At the end of the day, there will likely be something to make Conservatives unhappy.  BUT…

… SOMETHING will finally get done.
