Killing Your Adversaries

It’s the way of the world.

Kim Jong Un has reportedly executed (yes, killed) several members of his close associates because they didn’t produce acceptable results at the latest summits with Donald Trump.  He has previously had others murdered, including a brother.  He isn’t someone I would want for a friend.

That seems barbaric to us.  It is.  Unfortunately, it isn’t much different in America.  We just kill our adversaries with words, false accusations and character assassinations.

Even in the American church, the spirit of the world takes its toll.

In and out of the church, there is an antidote for this poison.  It is the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit.  Some prefer to call Him the Holy Ghost.  The Holy Ghost ushers in the presence of abiding love.  The power and presence of the Holy Ghost is transformational.  Read the second chapter of the book of Acts.  Lives are changed and enemies become brothers.

This life affords us all an individual choice.  We can live our lives by serving our own purposes, or we can yield to God and welcome the Holy Ghost.  This foundational choice not only determines our eternal destiny, it also charts our course in this present life.  A life yielded to the Holy Ghost will bring change to people and situations.  Positive change.

It is a much better way to eliminate your enemies.
