I Have a (political) Dream

It is “borrowed” from Dr. Martin Luther King.

Dr. King inspired the nation with his “I have a dream” speech:

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

My political dream is that our nation that would judge political candidates (of every Party), not by their appearance or Party, but by the content of their principles.

To that point, the issues and policies espoused by candidates is often masked by political correctness.  The focus of candidates tends to be designed to “sell” the candidate rather than clearly and honestly articulate the core beliefs the candidate will bring to the office.

Maybe it’s hoping for too much, to expect candidates to tell us what they believe, what they will do if elected, and then actually live up to their words.  Until that happens, I am praying that voters do their homework so they KNOW who and what they are voting for.

I have a dream.
