Imperfect Men Do Amazing Things

Effective Leaders are rarely (never) perfect.

God, because of the fallen nature of man, has no choice but to use imperfect men to accomplish His objectives on earth.

Many people consider Democrat President John F. Kennedy to have been a great President. To be sure, he was inspirational to our nation at the very least. I won’t elaborate on his imperfections or character flaws… just say that it is commonly known he was far short of perfect.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most effective, influential and inspirational leaders in my lifetime. He was less than a perfect man.

It wouldn’t be possible to name a leader (political or otherwise) who has been perfect. True, some appear to be closer than others. Still, some of the most despicable have accomplished some of the greatest things.

A journey far into history would have us looking at Biblical leaders like the amazing King David… a murderer and adulterer. Still, he was one of the greatest leaders of all time. It is even recorded that he had a “heart after God”.

A journey into Biblical history in search of greatness would be incomplete without including Saul of Tarsus. After killing and persecuting Christians, he became the Apostle Paul. It would be difficult to argue with his greatness OR his human imperfection.

Then, to President Donald J. Trump.

Imperfect man, sent by God, doing great things.
