A Most Horrible Christmas Memory

This powerful writing by a dear friend speaks for MILLIONS of women in America:

“It was the most horrendous Christmas present ever. It was supposed to make my life easier. The gift was given before the internet and the era of information emerged. There were no sonograms nor pictures of fully formed babies that fit in the palm of your hand.
I was young, naive and ignorant. I was told this was the best for me so I obeyed. After all, it was only a belated form of birth control.
I have not talked about this to anyone outside my family and only then when they asked why I was sad or crying. I am posting this in the wee hours because, for the millionth time, the thought of it has once again awakened me. This happens on a regular basis. It happens when I stop at a red light or when I look out of a window or when I hear a baby cry.
This Christmas present paid a doctor to use a loop shaped steel knife to scrap the sides of my uterus and tear my little baby to pieces.
Once I realized what I had done, I begged God to forgive me for breaking the 5th commandment. I trust that He has forgiven me, but I cannot forgive myself.
This is a gift that keeps on giving… sorrow, grief, remorse, pain and lots and lots of tears. It did not make my life easier.
That little baby could have grown up to be as amazing as my other kids, but I laid there while he or she died a painful death.”

The lifetime of pain and regret expresses what abortion advocates work hard to keep hidden. May God bless the MILLIONS of women who have borne this burden for so long, and cover them with His love and forgiveness during this Christmas season.
