You may not have heard, but the NEA has come out of the closet.
The National Education Association (NEA) has long been identified as a Leftist organization. 2019 was the year they formally endorsed abortion. The Washington Free Beacon published an article in July of this year with some details & commentary.
You might wonder what abortion has to do with providing our children a quality education. The answer is simple. Nothing. To those who have been paying attention, this new (not new at all, really) policy position comes as no surprise.
The NEA has a history of being entrenched in it’s support for Democrats and Leftist policies. Their membership of 3 million +/- teachers contribute around $400 million dollars each year through dues, about $70 million of which is spent on lobbying. Almost all of their political action spending goes to Democrats. The NEA is and has been in lock-step with Leftist Democrats for decades.
The NEA has little to do with education and everything to do with Leftist indoctrination.

Beginning with my generation (that includes me), parents started listening to psychobabble and abdicating total responsibility for education to government. We then busied ourselves ignoring what the government was teaching our children and who was teaching them.
Professional students became academia. Most university professors, lecturers, etc., devoid of real world experience, labored to make students just like them. After all they felt good about themselves and they wanted their students to feel good as well. Feelings were to reign supreme.
The result was secular godless moral relativism. Murdering God’s children in the womb is okay, child sacrifice is okay, substance abuse is okay. Actually anything is okay if it makes you feel good or prevents you from feeling at all, and you can even claim that you believe that is merely advancing freedom.
The NEA was just officially announcing their complete moral turpitude.
