South Dakota Legislature Considering Gun Confiscation

“Red Flag” laws are, in fact, gun confiscation laws.

Some will argue these laws would “protect” society from gun violence. It reminds me of the age-old assurance, “I’m here from the government, and I’m here to help you”.

No thanks. Take a moment to consider Virginia.

However well-intentioned (or not), make no mistake, these laws have the foundational mission to remove 2nd Amendment rights. They place the power in the hands of law enforcement and courts to make the determination of just WHO can lose their rights. After all, it’s just a few people… just those who “pose a danger” to themselves or others. Don’t kid yourself. This is gun confiscation, regardless of what it may be called. That may actually pose the GREATEST danger to society. It’s a first step in a very dangerous direction.

Placing gun confiscation power in the hands of law enforcement and courts might sound like it’s a “safe” proposal. Unfortunately, courts are made up of people… some of whom do not think the 2nd Amendment means what it says. Once laws are on the books, the courts determine when, how, where and with whom they will be enforced. Law MAKERS (Legislatures) can (and DO) tweak laws, year after year to make them “better”. Once that flood gate is opened, there is little chance of closing it.

In short, Red Flag laws are a BAD idea. Unless you want to start down the road of gun confiscation. Such is South Dakota Senate Bill 82 whose stated purpose is to “ provide for a risk protection order authorizing the seizure of firearms and ammunition.

The sponsors of this bill are eight Democrats and four “Republicans”,
Senators RuschKennedyNesibaWhite, and Wismer and Representatives DubaHealyMcCleereyMiskiminsRingSmith (Jamie), and Zikmund

Determining YOUR (and my) state of mental stability can become a very subjective thing in the hands of a Leftist court. Being a Christian who “talks to God” or “Hears God ” is considered mentally deranged by some.

If you don’t like the idea of gun confiscation, you would do well to contact your Legislators. HERE IS THEIR CONTACT INFO.

Once you lose a right, seldom do you get it back. Once a tax is passed it never goes away. Be sure of what you will get before letting the snake out of the gunny sack.
