South Dakota’s Noem Outshines Michigan’s Whitmer

Their stands on staying at home couldn’t be more different, one being a GOP conservative, the other a liberal Democrat.  So who could have guessed that the Republican Governor Kristi Noem would be the more measured and self-assured while being interviewed nationally by FoxNews, because “South Dakota remains one of the few states without a stay-at-home order.”

In contrast, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer comes across as more scattered and desperate because of her unfortunate alignment with the Democrats, the party representing states with most of the US coronavirus deaths.  Apparently, GOP governance offers more security and protection, including President Trump’s executive management at the top.

While “Michiganders protest coronavirus lockdown rules from their cars,” the governor announces authoritarian stay-at-home policies that discourage shopping even for items that seem to have little to do with viral hygiene.  FoxNew’s Tucker Carlson describes how far Whitmer has gone:  “Big box stores will also have to close areas of the store that are dedicated to things like carpet or flooring, furniture, garden centers, plant nurseries, or paint. If you’re not buying food, or medicine, or other essential items, you should not be going to the store.”

Carlson says that Whitmer should have first called Hendrik Streeck, “a German professor who directs the Institute of Virology at the University of Bonn. He has done a lot of research on this, and based on it has concluded that actually, there’s very little risk of spreading the coronavirus while shopping or actually even from touching surfaces, contrary to what they told you last month.”

Even worse, Whitmer seems to be selfishly playing politics with the lives of the citizens under her governance.  Carlson discloses that “Gov. Whitmer wants to be the vice president. She wants to be chosen by Joe Biden. That’s pretty clear, and she has calculated there is no penalty for petty authoritarianism. In fact, petty authoritarianism might make even mediocre politicians look strong and decisive. That’s her bet. She’s willing to destroy the people in her state in exchange.”
