Obamacare and the Deficit

Americans are speaking loud and clear but the Obama regime is not listening.

The news of late is dominated by the Debt Ceiling negotiations and the American people clearly believe that the deficit must be reduced by spending cuts.

While Republicans in Congress and the president haggle over a deal to raise the federal debt ceiling, 52% of voters believe that raising the debt ceiling without making significant cuts in government spending is more dangerous than a government default because the ceiling isn’t raised.

The latest Rasmussen survey shows most voters (57%) also continue to believe health care costs will go up under the law. Only 15% think those costs will go down, while 21% expect them to stay about the same.

One-in-three voters (34%) believes the plan will be good for the country. But 51% say the law will be bad for the country. Only three percent (3%) think it will have no impact at all.

When it comes to quality of care, only 19% believe it will get better under the new law. Nearly half of voters (49%) believe the quality of health care will get worse under the law. Another 25% think health care quality will remain about the same.
