It is widely known that agriculture is South Dakota’s number one industry. (State Government, not tourism, is 2nd)
Just how dependable is Agriculture in this economic environment? The Editor Emeritus of BEEF TODAY reports that one of the largest order buyer has been forced into receivership, with $81 Million dollars in bad checks.

What impact this will have on South Dakota and Ag producers won’t be
known for a while, but there is likely going to be some repercussion. In this troubled economy, we best not be dancing in the streets celebrating the recent election. We are a long way from being “out of the woods”.
This is one more domino in a long line of dominos waiting to fall.
