News Media Setup, Witch Hunt against Councilman Clayton?

UnknownMaybe the term “media liberal” should be coined–in reference to secular people whose only thoughts about news issues and social values come from the media, including Hollywood.

This is too bad because US media (including local monopolies) is almost all in the left-liberal camp, though made to seem so normalized and non-ideological that those who don’t get information from books won’t realize the difference.

Whatever comes across on television news shows must be correct, especially if good-looking, all-American hometown young people are the anchors.  No questioning, no critical thinking, no independent judgment–just acceptance.

Rapid City’s media monopolies, both print and broadcast, might seem to employ a lot of people, but policy slant comes from the unseen top and is never articulated for the public to view.  These are all private businesses owned by a handful of liberals who actually dictate the political tenor of the job-hungry reporters below them.

One more fact is quite obvious too:  the liberal establishment in America is run by a white elite, who attempt to paternally manage the fortunes of minorities.  The more helpless and down-and-out the minorities, the more influence this white elite has.  Ask any grant writer if the heroic Boy Scout-type Indian gets federal “assistance–or those who are poverty-ridden and worse?

Rapid City’s Ward 1 Councilman and USAF veteran Bill Clayton had a minor exchange with a Taisha Walker over the phone.  Things get said that are “out of character” on both sides, especially after a long work day.  But neither Clayton or Walker should be declared “racist” for that reason–else take the matter up with numerous government agencies that sort out alleged discrimination.  Local news media should not try such cases as one-sidedly as they do (the Germans did so in the 1930s).

A recent post on this site “Shouldn’t News Media Transcend Race in Favor of Colorblindness?” didn’t make allowances for liberal news media owners to conduct self-serving witch hunts under the banner of race justice.  With political correctness and media-fed liberals being the norm in the public sphere, there can be no defense against unfair accusations, however unfounded.

Notice how many of the local television channels still linger self-righteously, night after night, when the Clayton episode comes up.  “Guilty” is stamped all over the coverage.  Enough for most media liberals who don’t give it a second thought.  And the newspaper decides that one old man who wants to jump into the publicity limelight with a recall petition will get top billing as a headline.  How unfair to the innocent Clayton is this?  Guilty again, the banner seems to read.  Why not bury the notice on some later page and quit playing the race card on the local level?
