Should we now begin a campaign to require background checks before people can buy knives?

Maybe we should also ban knives with multiple blades, or kitchen knife holders that will hold five or more knives.

Knives are obviously evil, and should be controlled by the government. The only way to prevent knife violence is to require background checks and create restrictions.

Completely ridiculous, isn’t it? Mentally unstable people and criminals would still find a way to get knives. If not knives, then hammers, baseball bats, chain saws or airplanes. Maybe even guns.

Wake up! The problem is violence. Violence is caused by a sick mind or wicked heart. Guns are not the problem. Knives are not the problem. All the background checks you can do will not stop a sick person from acts of violence.

The media hype has created a “background check hysteria”. The anti-gun left has successfully convinced most Americans that background checks will somehow transform sick people or prevent them from acts of violence.

By supporting background checks, many people feel like they have “done their part” to stop violence. They continue, however, to support rap music, pornography, abortion and other things that promote a culture of violence and death. They also continue to support politicians and organizations that support this kind of culture. But they FEEL better, having “done something”… even though that “something ” does nothing to change hearts and minds.

Fortunately, there is still a remnant of Constitution-minded conservatives willing to hold the line and insist we deal with the REAL problem.
