The FBI shot and killed Robert “LaVoy” Finicum.
editorial note: The actual shooter(s) were reported to be Oregon State Police. That is the most current information available. It is fair to say, however, that the FBI was significantly involved in this whole ordeal, including the taking and releasing of the video of the shooting.
At any rate, Robert “LaVoy” Finicum was shot and killed.
That is an undisputed fact.
From there, it gets more complicated. Did the FBI murder him while he had his hands up, attempting to surrender? Did he seize the opportunity to provoke the FBI to shoot him as a means to commit suicide? Or, was it nothing more than an exercise in law enforcement?
The death of this Arizona rancher is tragic, regardless of the backstory related to the actual shooting.
What bears even more need for investigation and objective reporting is the alleged strong-arming and over-reach of the government. That is the underlying cause/allegation surrounding this, and other protests from these people. They are trying to bring their case to the court of public opinion, in hopes of finding what they believe is justice.
In one dispute, the Hammond father-son team was convicted of setting fires that burned relatively small portions of public property for what they claim was to control invasive plants. The son served a jail term of 3 months, the father a 1 year term. But that wasn’t enough for Federal prosecutors. They appealed, and a new judge ordered the Hammons back to jail for four years, even though they had already served their original sentence. The new judge said their sentences were not sufficient.
There are many cases that show growing conflict between ranchers and the Federal government. If there were only one or two of these conflicts, it could be written off as just some radicals wanting a fight. It has become MUCH larger than that. Something is stirring. Maybe its time for a closer look at what is really going on in these cases.
This shooting is sad, but it’s NOT the whole story.

Corrective notice was given. Premeditated murder unfolded for 25 days. This is the FEDERAL TERRORIST GROUP the people will be arresting.
