News Blackout On Meth March

Why would the South Dakota media ignore this event?

a

Eagle Butte is a community that has felt the impact of the methamphetamine epidemic. They aren’t taking it quietly.  A large car caravan, led by over one hundred marchers took a stand against meth with this peaceful demonstration.  Still others participated in the rally on horseback.

Tribal chairman, Harold Frazier participated in the march, along with Treasurer Benita Clark.

Addiction to meth, alcohol and other drugs plagues the Reservations in South Dakota.  It is a problem shared with the state at large.  It is commendable that these folks are trying to do something about it.  Too bad the media is unwilling to cover their efforts.  They were invited, but didn’t deem it newsworthy.

This event wasn’t even worthy of a mention by any South Dakota media organization.

It makes me wonder why.
