Maria was conflicted.

She was pretty sure she was pregnant.  This would be her second child and her home life was difficult.  Should she just “eliminate the problem” of another child?  The battle raged in her mind. 

First things first, she needed to know for sure if she was pregnant.  She had heard about a place (the Care Net Pregnancy Help Center) where she could get a free pregnancy test and ultra sound.  She had to know for sure.  It felt like she was in this alone, with no one to lean on.  Maria mustered the emotional strength to make an appointment.

At the Pregnancy Help Center, she met with a compassionate counselor.  It was a “safe” place to share her experiences of childhood filled with abuse that caused her to have periods of intense anger and depression.  Her family life suffered and she felt abandoned and alone.  She just didn’t know if she could deal with “another child”.

The love and care she received at the Pregnancy Help Center gave Maria the courage to seek professional help.  She left feeling nurtured and encouraged. 

AND… she found the strength to choose life for her unborn child.
