Childhood Vaccinations… Good Or Bad?

Infant vaccinations have been associated with autism.

It’s not the only problem suspected to result from childhood vaccinations.

My wife and I saw one of our sons nearly die from spinal meningitis as an infant.  We believe it resulted specifically from a DPT shot he was given.  Fortunately, he survived, but I often wonder if some of his difficult life struggles are somehow consequences of this horrible experience.  We refused the vaccination for our later born children.

President-elect Trump has some concerns about the issue as well.  He has appointed a well known vaccine skeptic, Robert Kennedy Jr. to chair a commission on vaccination safety and scientific integrity.  During the 2015 GOP primary Trump addressed the problem, “I am totally in favor of vaccines, But I want smaller doses over a longer period of time. Same exact amount, but you take this little beautiful baby, and you pump–I mean, it looks just like it’s meant for a horse, not for a child, and we’ve had so many instances, people that work for me.  A child, a beautiful child went to have the vaccine, and came back and a week later had a tremendous fever, got very, very sick, now is autistic.”

My brother, Gary Howie and his wife are adopting an infant.  He expressed a concern many parents are dealing with. “We now personally need to make decisions regarding inoculations of an infant, and those decisions are straightforward only if we have absolute trust in what now seems to be the predominant scientific opinion. We don’t. The prevalent scientific opinions have been wrong too many times. For example, a diet high in grain and low in fat, the recommended human diet for years, has resulted in endemic obesity. The predominant scientific (big ag) approach to farming and ranching is likewise completely wrong, is destructive to the biological life in soil,.and leads to food with decreased nutritional value.

Something is resulting in disturbing increases in autism, and we do not yet have anything other than suspicion and anecdotal evidence as to what the causes may be. At the very least, if not avoiding many of the shots, waiting until the child is older and separating out the shots appears to be the most prudent approach.”

Many parents don’t have the information they need to make a good decision.  They don’t know that they have options.  They are actually led to think it would be irresponsible to even question the vaccinations.

It’s encouraging that the President-elect is giving more than just lip service to this problem.  Parents need answers.  Children need SAFE medical care.  There is enough evidence to demand another look at how, when and IF infants should be getting all these vaccinations.

It’s about time.
