Hanks brings up the Kooiker censure again

By Ed Randazzo

I don’t think that Mayor Hanks is getting very good political advice.

In a Rapid City Journal article on 3/6/2011, Mayor Alan Hanks of Rapid City is quoted as saying “I find it unusual that Alderman Kooiker has chosen to run on a platform that he’s been publicly reprimanded by his council members. Whether you agree or disagree with the actions of the council, the majority of his fellow council members voted to reprimand him.”

I recall that the voters of Rapid City spoke loudly regarding the Council’s action against Sam Kooiker in the last Council election.

I wouldn’t bring that debacle up if I were Mayor Hanks.
