Honesty… What Can Survive Without It?

Deception is one of the most destructive forces in the world.

The media has used it for personal destruction in their attempt to manipulate America and advance an evil agenda.  Their misrepresentations and outright lying has been instrumental in dividing our Nation.  The political world is polluted with purveyors of dishonesty, as they scramble to gain personal advantage.

Dishonesty cuts deep in business and personal relationships too.  It tears down companies and destroys marriages.

One certainty is recited in Scripture, “Your sin will find you out”.

Most (if not everyone) have been dishonest at some point in their life.  Children are prone to lying when confronted for their misbehavior.  Fortunately, as we enter adult-hood, we outgrow that childish behavior.  Unfortunately, some people carry it with them throughout their entire lives.  That causes problems.

As the year comes to a close, there is yet another opportunity to “come clean”.  Forgiveness is the spirit of this season.  Some will seize the opportunity to clean the slate and start fresh with new behavior in the New Year.  Most will not.

We all have room for personal improvement; hence, the tradition of New Years Resolutions.  Now is a great time to put away those habits and misbehaviors that create problems for you and others.  Real change demands honesty.

Don’t expect great results if you continue in deception.
