God is… Mighty

Image result for mighty godGod “is” “Mighty”. “Is” meaning ; “existing in this moment of time“, and “the substance, characteristics, and/or character of a thing”. God “is” a “right now”, “in this moment” God; alive, active and available to us. His “substance”, “characteristics”, and “character” is “Mighty”.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is,…..” Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

Genesis 17:1-2 (NASB)
Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless. I will establish My covenant between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly.”
Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD (YHWH/Jehovah) appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God (El) Almighty (Shaddai);..”

There are several connotations of what the meaning of “El Shaddai” (God Almighty) is. “Shadday” (Shaddai) is a derivative of shādad (shaw-dad’), which means: “properly to be burly, i.e. (figurative) powerful (passive impregnable);) Strong’s Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

Some of the connotations expressed for “El Shaddai” (God Almighty) are that He is the “all-powerful”, “all-sufficient”, “God of the mountains”. Here are some scriptures that attest to the all-powerful sufficiency of God Almighty:

Jeremiah 32:26-27 (NASB)
Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?”

Psalm 121:1-8 (NASB)
1 I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come?
2 My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun will not smite you by day, Nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul.
8 The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9 (NKJV)
8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”….

Philippians 4:13 (Amplified Bible)
I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].

He “is” “all-powerful”, “all-sufficient”, “more than enough”.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is,…..” God “is” “Mighty”.
