Racism Comes In Every Color

Racism isn’t just “Whites against everyone else”.

At the very root, racism is evil.  Regardless of ethnic origin.

I was saddened, and troubled for South Africa this week when I learned that they have chosen to follow in the footsteps of brutal Zimbabwean leader Mugabe.  The South African Parliament passed, by a vote of 241 to 83, a measure to remove all white South African farmers from the land they own.  Julius Melema, the leader who brought the measure said, he was  “not calling for the slaughter of white people – at least for now”.

When Mugabe initiated this policy in Zimbabwe, he took the country from being the breadbasket of South Africa to a country that could not even feed it’s own people.  People were killed, properties destroyed and lives ruined.  Now, the same racist policies have infected South Africa.

This kind of wholesale racism does not heal the wounds of the past.  It doesn’t ‘set right’ injustices of the past.  It only further advances an environment of racism and hatred.

America has seen the long lasting effects of racism.  While many people have come together in love and unity, the wounds are still very deep.

Racism is not exclusive to any one color or culture.  The only cure for this kind of deep division among the communities of the world, is to discover ( or re-discover ) the love and brotherhood of God in Christ.

The wickedness and depravity begins when mankind does not follow the dictates of Christ,

“Love your neighbor as yourself”.
