Back in the day, that was the norm.
Today, it is unusual for a business to observe Sunday as a day set aside for worship, family and rest.
I was in Minneapolis for a speaking engagement last week, so I seized the moment to visit Chick-Fil-A. The food was great, the staff were well-kept and courteous and there was a fresh carnation on every table.
What impressed me most, though, was the notice that they are closed on Sunday.
In the early days of my real estate career, every office observed Sunday by not advertising or holding open houses. My, how things have changed!
Chick-Fil-A has demonstrated that providing a quality product and experience for customers leaves room for an expression of faith. The solid commitment to faith and customer service makes this company a role model for success.
Hats off to Chick-Fil-A!
