Most former Presidents stay out of the spotlight.
That unwritten tradition has recently been discarded by Barak Obama, in favor of political activism.
It may be time to take a closer look at another former President. One in particular, the second President of the United States, John Adams. He understood that our Republic could only survive with one prerequisite.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
A moral people have boundaries of behavior. An immoral people have no such restraints. Therein lies the modern-day American struggle. This is a time of choosing for America, like no other. We have arrived at a point in time where we must decide whether we will be a nation of moral integrity or not. It is clear by any reasonable assessment that Leftists have made their choice. As one of my Democrat friends aptly put it, ‘anything goes’. That is the political playbook Leftists use as their “bible”.
Should Leftist regain political power, our nation and her Godly heritage may be lost forever. The warning John Adam sounded early in our history must be recognized as truth for today, if we are to survive. Immoral behavior inside or outside of the political arena serves to deal a destructive blow to our freedom and prosperity as a nation. We will either heed the warning of President John Adams, or become a nation in decline, plunging toward destruction. Leftists do not care. Their agenda is an immoral one to begin with, and they are blinded to the ultimate consequences.
The Old Testament book of Joshua made the plea that rings today and throughout all time:
“Choose this day whom you will serve.”
