Should Disenfranchised Republicans Return?

Perhaps.

Solomon told us:

“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.”

It may be time for those Conservatives who believe that the Republican Party Platform is RIGHT, to come home.

It might be time for those who left, disgusted and discouraged to consider re-engaging.

It could be time for those who have seen the Party drift to the Left, to return and set it right.

Many have gone away, thinking… hoping… praying… that they could somehow make a difference OUTSIDE of the Republican Party.  In some measure, they may have succeeded.  In some measure, they have failed.  They never changed their core values.  Those are still intact.

Perhaps its time to re-evaluate where and how positive change can be affected.

Maybe it’s time.

P.S.

After publishing this article, a friend asked me what is motivating my current change in attitude..  this was my response:

“Deeply held beliefs have prompted me to do things in my life. One example of that is my conviction that life is sacred, and protection of unborn children is a God-born belief. When Mike Rounds vetoed the first abortion ban in SD, it pushed me into the political arena to begin with. It is what motivated me to run for State Legislature. I have always believed that the Republican Party Platform very closely articulated my core values. Now, years later, that Platform still reflects my values. The question for me is and has been, “How can I best support, defend and promote those values”? As I survey the current political landscape, I am nearing a conclusion that the best way to ‘cleanse’ the Republican Party of those who have ignored and done damage to the principles/Platform is to work from within. I do not see a viable option from outside of the Republican Party. Sooooo… the short answer to your question, is that I don’t see a better option that supports my personal values.”

If you like to be abused, slandered, demeaned, marginalized, then do it.

RETURN? The Republican party just removed anymenton of being against abortion on their national platform….and many RINOs wanted it off the SD Platform as well…
