News release:

Contact:  Shad Olson, (605) 391-8899
President, South Dakota Tea Party Alliance

Rapid City, S.D.,– South Dakota Tea Party Alliance President, Shad Olson, announces today national conservative talk show host Glenn Beck will appear in Rapid City October 26th as the kick off event for the nationwide promotional tour for Beck’s latest book entitled, Broke: The Plan to Restore Our Trust, Truth and Treasure.  Sponsored in conjunction with Big Horn Canyon Ministries, The Shad Olson Radio Show, Wilson Baird Communications and the South Dakota Tea Party Alliance, Olson says Beck’s South Dakota appearance and an evening rally in Colorado Springs on the same day will serve as fundraising opportunities for “The Constitution Challenge,” an educational curriculum currently under development.

“We are honored that Mr. Beck has agreed to be a part of our effort to reacquaint America’s students with the unique freedoms our constitution guarantees,” Olson said.  “It is our goal to bring this program to a national audience.  Having one of the country’s foremost conservative voices take the stage in Rapid City is a powerful step in that direction.”

Olson says Beck’s appearance in Rapid City will include a VIP book signing luncheon at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn followed by a noontime keynote speech at the Civic Center.  An evening appearance in Colorado Springs rounds out the first day of a multi-city tour.  Olson says additional Beck appearances in other cities will also feature promotion for The Constitution Challenge, a work that will be co-authored by Constitutional scholar, Stephen Pratt.  Pratt is best known as researcher and unaccredited co-author of Cleon Skousen’s, The 5,000 Year Leap, a book published in 1981 that only recently became a national best-seller after heavy exposure on Glenn Beck’s radio and television programs.

“We have been very fortunate to incorporate Mr. Pratt’s remarkable dedication to scholarship in this project,” Olson said.  “His ability to distill the beautiful function of our founding documents into a form easily digested by the modern American will be invaluable as we move forward.”

Olson says the mission of impacting students’ awareness of their country’s unique founding carries deep consequences for America’s future, both economically and politically.

“In America today there are people with college degrees and $100,000 in student loans who consider their first allegiance as citizens of the world to the absolute exclusion of their citizenship of this great nation.  That’s clear evidence of a secular-socialist agenda endemic at all levels of our education system.  Combine that with pervasive academic mediocrity and it spells failure for America’s ability to compete effectively on the world stage.  We hope to fight that.”

Is your god Creator? My God says this — 3:16 Unto the woman He said: ‘I will greatly multiply thy pain and thy travail; in pain thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband and he shall rule over thee.’

Salut!, This page is high-quality and so is how the subject was written about. I like some of the comments also even though I would suggest we all stay on the suject to add value to the message. It will be also encouraging to the one who penned it down if we all could make mention of it (for some of us who use bookmarking services such as a reddit, twitter,..). Thanks again.

Immediately after being inadvertently hit with an opposing player’s elbow inside lip while playing basketball along with friends and family, our President gotten 12 stitches currently administered by White House Medical Unit. They were done in the doctor’s office positioned on the ground floor in the White House.I hope he would take his offense to Congress. He has been enjoying defense from the Republicans for two years. I voted for him because I believed he had game.

I listened to Obama’s speech from New Delhi, India this morning and noticed how easily he is able to pronounce all the Indian city names, expressions, sites, etc. In fact, he is able to easily speak and pronounce, correctly, many foreign country, city, expressions from Pakistan, Indonesia, etc. I then began to wonder why the JERK has such a difficult time, when quoting from The Declaration of Independence the following: “that they are endowed BY THEIR CREATOR”, in English. I concluded it’s because he does NOT have the personal fortitude to quote it correctly. He refuses to honor The United States Constitution, why would he honor The Declaration of Independence?

Hah – Obama in India. This is one of the biggest signs of American demise: The president of the worlds ”superpower” selling goods like a door salesman, knocking on India´s door begging for some sales. India has increased in over 450% military trade with Russia while decreasing in over 100% with US. Obama is doing nothing but begging India to buy from US again in hopes of containing CHINA´S growth. Oh and PUH LEASE, offering a permanent seat at UN´s Security Council is the same as: ‘’BUT WAIT that´s not ALL, call now and we will include a key chain, a flash light, and a customized bumper sticker’’ .

I really didn’t expect you to share with us the manner in which God has communicated with you, and why He hasn’t done the same with those who don’t worship Him in the same manner you do, and why you think you are right, and everyone who differs with you is wrong.

And your “good authority’s” name is _________________________. Surely you don’t think anyone would accept you as the authority. Perhaps it is your leader, the prince of darkness, the deceiver. The deceiver is failing you, Inde, whatever your hidden name is. Step out of the darkness into the light of the love of God, the grace of Jesus Christ and the communion of the Holy Spirit.

    Independent,
If you were so brave as to use your real name, I probably would be slow to address you only by your last name unless I intended it to be a sign of distain or disrespect. Your addressing me as “Howie” gives us all another glimpse at why you hide behind your veil of secrecy…..
and, no, I’m not sore about anything. I just see the media for what it is. God gave me an incredible opportunity to present important policy views…. no regrets here

      GH,
That’s “disdain.” Anyway, what makes you think God gave you anything He didn’t give me or anyone else representing mainstream America? Do you really think God thinks you’re different than everyone else, just because you think you are? If so, I’d sure like to hear about how God gave you this incredible opportunity, or how He spoke to you.

He spoke to my ancestor Abraham directly, many years ago. Now that I can relate to.

WHOA!!! Is this the same Independent that accuses me of judging others who has just passed judgment on Gordon Howie? Don’t you read your own comments? Don’t you believe what you write? Oh wait, you are one of those independents that is omniscient and omnipotent and you are exempt from that which you spew.

Thanks for the laugh about the media. Who is being naïve in thinking that the media “accurately reflects the thinking of the majority”? Not on your game tonight, Inde. You might get by with this spew on Mt. Blogmore but here that dog wont hunt.

Is it so difficult for you to believe that God does guide the faithful? God has not forsaken anyone. It is we that forsake Him.

      Ed,
Exactly how did you receive God’s word that you are right and the media is wrong, that fundamentalists are right and the majority of the country is wrong? Did He speak to you, as He did Abraham and Moses? Or do you think you are doing God’s work simply because you say it is so? Again, how does God communicate His word to you, and how does He tell you others are misguided, and your path is true?

    Howie,

Ahh, you’re still sore with the “liberal media” for acurately reporting your tax issues, and families legal issues. According to Bob Ellis, that’s why you performed so poorly in the S.D. gubernatorial primary. I’m not buying it. You’re simply too extreme for the vast majority of South Dakotans.

Have you ever considered the possiblity the “liberal” media accurately reflects the thinking of the majority of the American public? Or do you truly believe the American public is naive and easily mislead by the media, and that you and your brethren have somehow managed to avoid being brain-washed and can clearly see the issues? Maybe because you think God is guiding you, and He has forsaken the vast majority of the country, appointing only fundamentalists the enduring task of showing the rest of us His light?

    • October 8, 2010 at 5:02 pm

You have it backwards, Independent: the “mainstream” media works very hard to create liberal thinking in the American public.

Unfortunately for them, more and more people all the time are wising up to their tactics. Not nearly enough Americans possess the insight to overcome their more subtle tactics for swaying opinion; it’s much easier to shift public opinion with “selective reporting” where negative information is put under a microscope for one candidate but ignored for another.

But unfortunately for anti=Christians such as yourself, more and more people are waking up to this all the time. Enjoy your time in the sun, for it will be over soon enough.

        October 11, 2010 at 3:23 pm

Sorry Bob, but when the majority of the country thinks one way, you’re backwards to deny it’s not mainstream. And people aren’t as naive as you fundamentalists think. Most people are quite capable of seeing things as they are, and don’t rely on the media to dictate the way they think. It’s the exact opposite of fundamentalists and their Bibles, it’s called free thinking, using the brain God gave you. You’re fighitng a non-existent foe, you’ve conjured up a demon to give your life purpose, so you may think yoiu’re doing God’s work. And by the way, prove God is on your side.

Try this CBC News article. It deals with many of the Founders, our Constitution and Declaration and includes writings fundamentalists chose to ignore.

      • October 8, 2010 at 2:23 pm

Sorry, but this is just more of the same revisionist lies that you’ve been vomiting here. Being a “mainstream” media outlet, CBS has the same anti-Christian anti-America agenda as the rest of the secularist Left.

Sorry, the evidence is overwhelmingly clear: America was founded by devout Christians on Christian principles, and was expected by our founders to remain a Christian nation…if we were to remain a free nation.

You don’t have to like our Christian heritage, but you don’t get to revise it.

The “evidence” is wishful thinking on your part Bob. You know, for example how Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence really felt about your religious convictions, yet you chose to live in ignorance. And Christ is not mentioned in either the secular Constitution or Declaration. Both are clearly secular documents. The alleged religous practices of the Founders have absolutley nothing to do with either founding document. It is you who is lying, to yourself. Once again Bob, religion is not about facts, it’s about faith.

I don’t believe Beck is anything more than a showman. And if you’re going to present your opinion the Ameircan people need to be educated about our Founder’s and the Constitution and Declaration, try to be somewhat impartial. I’ll give you a few direct quotes most fundamentalist rarely acknowledge, for obvious reasons. Including Thomas Jeffersons’ (author of the Declaration) and George Washington’s indiffernence, and at times contempt for organized religion.

Let’s start with the painting on the Capitol ceiling, titled “The Apotheosis of Washington,” which refers to the exaltation of a subject (Washington) to divine level.

    http://www.aoc.gov/cc/art/rotunda/apotheosis/index.cfm

Quite simply, it depicts Washington ascending with Greek Gods, as he himself becomes divine.

Here’s a quote from Thomas Jefferson; “The day will come,” he predicted (wrongly, so far), “when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter.”

And one from Thomas Paine; “The obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness” of the Old Testament, “a history of wickedness, that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind.” The New Testament is less brutalizing but more absurd, the story of Christ’s divine genesis a “fable, which for absurdity and extravagance is not exceeded by any thing that is to be found in the mythology of the ancients.” He held the idea of the Resurrection in especial ridicule: Indeed, “the wretched contrivance with which this latter part is told, exceeds every thing that went before it.” Paine was careful to contrast the tortuous twists of theology with the pure clarity of deism. “The true deist has but one Deity; and his religion consists in contemplating the power, wisdom, and benignity of the Deity in his works, and in endeavoring to imitate him in every thing moral, scientifical, and mechanical.”

I totally agree with you guys. We should expose all the information about our history and our Founder’s that has been supressed by fundamentalists and others who can’t or won’t accept who our Founders really were.
